Being a fighting game enthusiast is truly exciting right now. Contemporary titles are consistently supported, classic games are widely available, and a plethora of new releases are on the horizon. There’s no better venue to relish this flourishing era of fighting games than Evo, a gathering where the community unites in appreciation of the genre. With competitor registration wrapped up and Evo 2025 just over two weeks away, let’s delve into some statistics pertinent to this year’s tournaments.
Evo 2025 Final Registration Leaderboard Numbers
A total of 8,541 players have registered for Evo this year. Close to half are competing in Street Fighter 6, which has once again claimed the top spot with 4,228 entrants, marking its third consecutive year at the forefront. TEKKEN 8 secures the second position after its debut last year, attracting 2,521 competitors. The battle for third place was competitive, with fewer than 100 entries separating the final two titles. Ultimately, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves leads with 1,576 players for its Evo debut, while Guilty Gear -Strive- holds firm at 1,508 entrants in its fourth year in Las Vegas.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is fifth this year with 936 entries, followed by MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2 at 570, making it the largest MvC2 bracket ever and continuing the record of attendance since the concept began. The final titles in the Arena Lineup, UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes and Mortal Kombat 1, complete this year’s list with 547 and 377 entrants, respectively. These eight games will showcase their Finals on the Arena stage, though more tournaments are featured across the event.
With the addition of the Extended Lineup, Evo 2025 will crown a total of 16 champions. Though not held in the Arena, these eight games will have their brackets streamed on Evo’s official channels, and finalists will receive medals and trophies like those in the Arena Lineup. Including these Extended Lineup games, there are 13,892 unique entries across this year’s tournaments.
Evo 2025 Entrant Game Crossover
The charts illustrate the crossover of entrants among the Arena Lineup tournaments at Evo 2025. Street Fighter 6 and FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves boast the largest overlap, with 943 players registered for both, representing nearly 60% of City of the Wolves participants. Notably, THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV also saw around 80% of its players registered for FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves.
Evo 2025 Entrants by Country
The following chart shows the countries represented at this year’s Evo. While over 90% of attendees hail from the U.S., 64 different countries will be present. Canada, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and South Korea lead as the most represented international attendees. Street Fighter 6 garners the most entries overall, with exceptions from Mexico, where FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves takes precedence.
