ONE Championship is enhancing the lineup for the upcoming ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II by adding two exciting matchups slated for the U.S. primetime event on February 13 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Filipino veteran Danny “The King” Kingad will face China’s Hu Yong in a flyweight MMA bout, with both athletes eager to end their losing streaks and reignite their title ambitions.
This U.S. primetime event, streamed live on Amazon’s Prime Video, will also feature Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu action as Fabricio “Hokage” Andrey competes against 2025 IBJJF Black Belt World Champion Joao Mendes in a featherweight submission grappling matchup.
Danny Kingad Aims for First Win since 2023 at ONE Fight Night 40
Kingad enters this pivotal bout with a 15-5 record, including 11 wins under the ONE Championship banner. The 30-year-old is looking to rebound after defeats to current champion Yuya Wakamatsu and former titleholder Adriano Moraes. As a former ONE Flyweight MMA World Title challenger, Kingad has faced top-tier opponents, including a notable match against legendary fighter Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.
A win against Hu at ONE Fight Night 40 would not only silence critics but also rekindle his championship aspirations in a highly competitive division. Hu, the 29-year-old Chinese fighter, has a record of 13-7, with eight victories in the promotion, but like Kingad, he is also coming off a series of defeats.
Exciting Grappling Matchup Between BJJ Leaders
The 25-year-old Andrey arrives with impressive credentials, including a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Championship and a record of 103 victories. He made his promotional debut in 2025, securing back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Ashley Williams and Eduardo Granzotto, establishing himself as a formidable presence in ONE Championship’s grappling division.
Andrey’s technical acumen and steady approach have been effective against strong competition. His nickname “Hokage” signifies his potential among the new generation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu stars looking to make an impact on the global scene. Meanwhile, Mendes, a 28-year-old Brazilian and recent IBJJF Black Belt World Champion, will be making his promotional debut, aiming to make an immediate impression against a seasoned ONE Championship athlete.
ONE Fight Night 40’s Card Promises Excitement
While only a few matchups are confirmed for ONE Fight Night 40, the lineup looks promising. The event will feature a World Title rematch, with Stella Hemetsberger challenging Jackie Buntan for the kickboxing belt after winning the ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title last September.
Also on the card, Hawaii’s Adrian Lee will face Japan’s Shozo Isojima in a lightweight MMA matchup, both fighters looking to bounce back from losses against ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo. ONE Fight Night 40 will stream live on Prime Video at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on February 13 and is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
