Players of the Month
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Oklahoma City Thunder and Coby White of the Chicago Bulls have been honored as the Kia NBA Players of the Month for the Western and Eastern Conferences respectively, recognizing their performances in March.
Western Conference: Gilgeous-Alexander guided the Thunder to a staggering 15-1 record, including an unbeaten 7-0 on the road. He topped the NBA in scoring with an average of 34.7 points per game, complemented by 7.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.14 steals.
Eastern Conference: White averaged 27.7 points, ranking ninth in the NBA during March, along with 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Notably, he enjoyed a personal best streak of 15 consecutive games scoring over 20 points, highlighted by a career-high 44-point game on March 6.
Defensive Players of the Month
Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors and Dyson Daniels from the Atlanta Hawks have been named the Kia NBA Defensive Players of the Month for March.
Western Conference: Green averaged 1.9 steals, ranking third in the West, and played a key role in the Warriors leading the league in steals. His defensive efforts contributed to the team’s impressive defensive rating of 109.7.
Eastern Conference: Known as “The Great Barrier Thief,” Daniels recorded a league-high 46 steals in March, with averages of 3.3 steals, 5.4 deflections, and 3.1 forced turnovers, making him the youngest player since the 1973-74 season to achieve 200 steals in a single season.
Rookies of the Month
Stephon Castle from the San Antonio Spurs and Zaccharie Risacher of the Atlanta Hawks have been named the Kia NBA Rookies of the Month for March.
Western Conference: Castle recorded an impressive average of 19.5 points along with 4.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists, making him one of the few Spurs players to earn this accolade multiple times in one season.
Eastern Conference: Risacher posted an average of 16.3 points throughout March, with a standout performance of 36 points in a game against Milwaukee. His consistent performance earned him Rookie of the Month honors for February and March, a first for any rookie this season.
Coaches of the Month
Mark Daigneault of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Joe Mazzulla of the Boston Celtics have been awarded the NBA Coaches of the Month for March.
Western Conference: Daigneault achieved his third career Coach of the Month award after leading the Thunder to a record-breaking 15-1 during March, with the highest points scored per game and shooting percentages in the league.
Eastern Conference: Mazzulla guided the Celtics to a stellar 14-1 record during March, marked by their impressive defensive capability, allowing just 107.7 points per game. The Celtics also made franchise history by finishing a road trip with a perfect 6-0 record.
