Traditionally, we announced our regular-season awards individually. This year, however, we are taking a different approach due to the busy schedule around us.
All awards will be presented together in a single, detailed post.
These awards are not my personal selections. The Associated Press has instructed its 50 voters to keep their winners confidential until the NFL Honors event next month. We don’t have to wait that long to highlight those deserving of recognition for their outstanding performances throughout the recently concluded 272-game season.
Below are the awards, reflecting the input from various writers at PFT.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Panthers Receiver Tetairoa McMillan
McMillan, a first-round pick, achieved 1,017 receiving yards across 17 games for the NFC South champions. If Saints quarterback Tyler Shough had played more than nine games, he might have clinched this honor.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Browns Linebacker Carson Schwesinger
The second-round selection solidified his status as the standout defensive rookie, recording 156 tackles, two interceptions, and 2.5 sacks over 16 starts.
Comeback Player of the Year: 49ers Running Back Christian McCaffrey
After being limited to four games in 2024 due to injuries, McCaffrey bounced back in 2025 with an impressive 2,126 total yards. His resilience helped keep the 49ers competitive, culminating in a 12-5 season.
Offensive Player of the Year: Falcons Running Back Bijan Robinson
Robinson had an outstanding season, leading the league with 2,298 yards from scrimmage and showcasing his ability to score from anywhere on the field. He recorded an impressive 93-yard run and averaged 6.3 yards per touch.
Defensive Player of the Year: Browns Defensive End Myles Garrett
Garrett’s performance was phenomenal, breaking the single-season sack record with 23. His ability to thrive in challenging situations elevated him above the competition.
MVP: Patriots Quarterback Drake Maye
The MVP race was closely contested between Maye and Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. Maye had remarkable stats, including the highest passer rating and an eight-game streak of outstanding performance. His leadership was crucial in securing the division title for the Patriots.
