Param Veers Sports Complex, Ground 2 (Canada won the toss): Canada triumphed over Bermuda by eight wickets
Canada achieved a convincing victory against Bermuda, bowling them out for just 60 runs at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier in Rydal, Georgia.
The top scorers for Bermuda were Luke Horan, Isaiah O’Brien, and Callum McIntosh, all with 13 runs, as their innings collapsed in only 16.5 overs.
Canadian bowler Jagmandeep Paul followed up his impressive six for seven performance against Argentina with a notable three for seven, earning him player of the match honors.
Canada, aided by a solid 35 from opener Aryan Sidhu, completed their run chase effortlessly in just 4.5 overs, finishing with 271 balls remaining.
Bermuda, still reeling from a previous 204-run defeat to the United States, started poorly as Callum MacFarlane was dismissed for a duck in the first over by Dhruv Beniwal.
Despite Horan and O’Brien forming a brief 21-run partnership, the Bermuda innings quickly unraveled after O’Brien was dismissed, leading to a swift end to their innings.
The Canadian bowling attack, particularly Paul, who finished off the tail after significant contributions from Krishh Misra, Beniwal, and Danistor Dominic, made it a one-sided encounter.
With strong batting depth, including experienced player Yuvraj Samra, Canada faced no challenges in chasing down such a low target.
Although Horan secured the wickets of Samra and Dharm Patel, Sidhu’s quick-fire 35 runs sealed the victory swiftly for Canada.
Bermuda will be back in action today against the tournament favorites, the United States, where another defeat would eliminate their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
