It’s that time of year again—the WTA awards season is upon us, and we’re excited to honor the achievements of an unforgettable season on the Hologic WTA Tour.

Match of the Year
Rome Semifinals: Coco Gauff vs. Zheng Qinwen 7-6 (3), 4-6, 7-6 (4)
The highly anticipated rematch from the 2024 WTA Finals lived up to expectations, culminating in a tense tiebreaker. Gauff, coming back from a break down in the final set, triumphed 7-6 (3), 4-6, 7-6 (4), marking her as the first American in nine years to reach the Rome final.
This thrilling encounter lasted 3 hours and 22 minutes, with the final set taking 80 minutes alone. In the tiebreaker, Zheng initially led but Gauff rallied to take seven of the next nine points, securing the win just after midnight, marking the longest match of her career.
Singles Fan Favorite of the Year
Zheng Qinwen
Despite a season-ending injury, the 23-year-old garnered unwavering support from fans throughout 2025. Her standout performances came in Rome and Roland Garros, reaching the semifinals and quarterfinals, respectively. Post-Wimbledon, she underwent elbow surgery and briefly returned to play in Beijing, where she won one match before retiring in another.
Doubles Fan Favorite of the Year
Jasmine Paolini
Paolini’s popularity, both in Italy and internationally, soared in 2025, highlighted by her first major doubles title at Roland Garros with Sara Errani. She also claimed victory in Rome and contributed to Italy’s Billie Jean King Cup title defense, amassing 80 matches across singles and doubles while always bringing joy to her games.
WTA 1000 Moment of the Year
Alexandra Eala’s Semifinal Run in Miami
Ranked 140th, Eala, then-19, made headlines by defeating three Grand Slam champions—Ostapenko, Keys, and Swiatek—to reach the semifinals of the WTA 1000 tournament. Her stunning victory over Swiatek established her as the first Filipina to advance to a WTA Tour semifinal and later make the Top 100.
WTA 500 Moment of the Year
Venus Williams’ Winning Return in D.C.
After a 16-month hiatus, the seven-time Grand Slam champion returned at 45, winning her first match against then-World No. 35 Peyton Stearns 6-3, 6-4. This victory made her the oldest player to win a tour-level match since 2004. Williams continued her comeback with notable performances in Cincinnati and New York, including a doubles run with Leylah Fernandez at the US Open.

The Epic Tiebreak in Eastbourne
In a dramatic final in Eastbourne, Maya Joint defeated Eala in a thrilling tiebreak that saw six shifts in momentum. Joint saved four championship points, eventually clinching the title with a backhand winner after leading 5-2 in the tiebreak, resulting in a match score of 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (10).
