Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency for Health Reasons
Dolly Parton has announced that her eagerly awaited Las Vegas residency will be delayed as she focuses on her health. The 79-year-old country music icon confirmed the news via Instagram, explaining that she has been encountering health issues necessitating multiple medical procedures.
In her message, Parton stated, “I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts.” She emphasized that her doctors have advised her to undergo several procedures due to these health challenges.
Using her characteristic humor, she likened this situation to needing a “100,000-mile check-up,” clarifying that it wasn’t related to her typical visits to her plastic surgeon. Parton also reassured her followers that she is not retiring, expressing, “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”
The new concert dates for Las Vegas are now set for September 2026, with performances rescheduled from September 17 to September 26. Tickets from the original shows in 2025 will be honored for the new dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend.
Fans and fellow celebrities have shown their support. Olivia Munn left heart emojis, while Brandi Carlile remarked that Parton is “beyond reproach.” Jennifer Nettles encouraged her to prioritize her health, saying, “In the meantime, tend to yourself and feel better!”
This announcement follows previous health concerns, as Parton had recently cancelled a visit to Dollywood, where she was to announce a new attraction. In a pre-recorded message, she revealed she was recovering from kidney stones, noting an infection had complicated her situation.
Despite her health setbacks, Parton has assured fans she will keep them updated and plans to return to Dollywood soon. Reflecting on her husband Carl Dean’s recent passing, she mentioned the emotional support she has received from fans and expressed gratitude for their love during this challenging time.
