We previously analyzed the Philadelphia Eagles’ depth chart for the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Our focus started on offense, transitioned to defense, and concluded with special teams. With the start of OTAs, it’s time to predict who will make the final 53-player roster. We will adjust these predictions as offseason practices and preseason games unfold.
OFFENSE
QUARTERBACKS: Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Kyle McCord (3) [3]
Hurts, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, will likely need to pass more than he did in 2024. McKee appears to be an upgrade over Kenny Pickett as QB2, benefiting from increased reps. McCord and Dorian Thompson-Robinson are in a contest for the emergency third quarterback position, with McCord likely taking the role unless he falters and DTR excels.
RUNNING BACKS: Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, AJ Dillon (3) [6]
After an outstanding season, expectations for Barkley remain high, though he may not replicate his previous success. Shipley is poised to step into the RB2 role, while Dillon adds solid depth. If Barkley is unavailable, they might split duties. Undrafted rookies Montrell Johnson Jr. and ShunDerrick Powell could vie for RB3 or RB4 spots.
DEFENSE
EDGE RUSHERS: Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, Azeez Ojulari, Joshua Uche, Antwaun Powell-Ryland (5) [31]
Smith improved throughout the 2024 season, aiming for further growth in Year 3. Hunt made strides as a rookie and is expected to be a consistent contributor. Ojulari’s health is crucial for his impact, while Uche’s place is less certain. Powell-Ryland had a productive college career and is expected to make his mark in the NFL. Bryce Huff’s future is questionable, and he may be traded or placed on IR.
SPECIAL TEAMS
RETURN SPECIALIST: Avery Williams (1) [50]
Williams is noted as a return specialist on the Eagles’ roster, with potential involvement in other positions during OTAs. His role could expand this season under Nick Sirianni’s guidance, likely focusing on punt and kick returns.
INJURY DESIGNATIONS
PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO PERFORM LIST (PUP): Nakobe Dean
Dean is recovering from a torn patellar tendon, and while his recovery seems promising, caution is advised. If placed on the PUP list, he will miss a minimum of four games.
