Former LIV Golf Player Transitions to Real Estate Career Following Suspension from PGA Tour
Hudson Swafford, a former star of LIV Golf, has embarked on a new career in real estate after his contract was not renewed last year. The 38-year-old golfer continues to face suspension from the PGA Tour following his exit in 2022.
Swafford’s journey has seen considerable change since LIV Golf released him after a lackluster season. Once a golfer noted for his talent, he finished a disappointing T36 and was later let go, leaving him in a state of career uncertainty.
Initially part of the first wave of players leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV in 2022, Swafford played in five events that year before receiving a lengthy suspension from the PGA for his decision to join the new league.
Swafford dealt with a hip injury that hampered his 2023 season and, despite initially being given another opportunity as a wildcard, his underwhelming performances resulted in his PGA ineligibility for at least a year after leaving LIV.
Opting not to pursue alternate tours, Swafford decided to step back from competitive golf and focus on real estate in Atlanta. He has expressed enjoyment in his new role, emphasizing the quality time it allows him to spend with his family.
While discussing his future with the PGA, Swafford remarked on the automatic 12-month suspension he received due to his involvement with LIV, indicating that discussions are ongoing about a potential return, albeit not until 2027.
