Apple Launches iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5
Apple has officially released iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5, marking the fifth updates to the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems that debuted last September. This release follows just over a month after the rollout of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4.
The new software can be easily downloaded on compatible iPhones and iPads by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 18.5 has a build number of 22F76, indicating that users with the Release Candidate installed will receive an additional update.
Features and Enhancements
iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 are fairly modest updates, introducing a select few new features. One significant update enhances Screen Time, allowing parents to be notified when a Screen Time passcode is utilized on their child’s device. Additionally, there is new support for satellite features offered by some carriers on iPhone 13 models.
This update also includes several enhancements and bug fixes:
- A new Pride Harmony wallpaper
- Parents receive notifications upon the use of the Screen Time passcode on a child’s device
- The “Buy with iPhone” option is now available within the Apple TV app for third-party devices
- Resolved an issue causing a black screen in the Apple Vision Pro app

Looking Ahead
Apple will soon redirect its focus towards iOS 19 and iPadOS 19, anticipated to be unveiled at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference in June. However, the company intends to release an iOS 18.6 update aimed at introducing Apple Intelligence to users in China.
