New Evidence in Kanye West Sexual Assault Case
A model has recently submitted new affidavits to support her allegations against Kanye West. The claims revolve around an incident on the set of a La Roux music video, where she alleges that West choked her and forced her to gag with his fingers. La Roux, recalling the event, expressed, “I could never forget that, it was horrific” in the court documents reviewed by Rolling Stone.
Details of the Incident
Jennifer An, a finalist from America’s Next Top Model in 2009, filed a lawsuit against West for sexual assault under New York City’s Gender Motivated Violence Protection Act in November 2024. During what was supposed to be an exciting background role in a remix of La Roux’s song “In for the Kill,” she alleges West specifically requested her by saying, “Give me the Asian girl,” leading to a humiliating experience.
West’s Conduct on Set
According to the lawsuit, West allegedly choked An with both hands and forced his fingers into her mouth, simulating forced oral sex while declaring, “This is art. I am like Picasso.” In response to the claims, West’s team filed a motion to dismiss, arguing that his actions were protected as free artistic expression.
Legal Developments
An’s legal team contested this assertion, submitting new evidence and witness testimonies to support her claims. Attorney Jesse S. Weinstein announced that the filing demonstrated significant corroboration for An’s allegations, emphasizing that the nature of the incident does not justify such conduct under the guise of artistic expression.
Witness Testimony
The submitted documents include messages from La Roux acknowledging her memory of the incident and expressing regret. Additionally, Liz Martins, a makeup artist present that day, confirmed to have witnessed West’s actions, calling them not part of the script and stating everyone was too intimidated to intervene due to West’s influence.
Continuing Legal Challenges for West
Kanye West is currently facing further legal issues, including another sexual assault lawsuit filed by his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta. He continues to deny all allegations against him.
