Injury Status Overview for Dallas Cowboys
FRISCO, Texas — After four weeks of the 2025 NFL season, every team, including the Cowboys, is grappling with various injuries and trying to manage the situation effectively.
The Cowboys are facing multiple injury challenges, with some players close to returning while others have sustained new injuries during these initial games.
Current Injured Players
Here’s an update on the 17 players from the Cowboys who are currently dealing with injuries:
Tyler Smith (Knee)
Tyler Smith, who participated in all 67 offensive snaps against the Packers, appeared on the injury report with a knee issue. He missed Wednesday’s practice viewing, and it remains unclear whether he will be available for the upcoming game against the Jets. The team is already down two starters, and his absence could add pressure to an already thin roster.
KaVontae Turpin (Foot)
After sustaining a foot injury post-Week 4, Turpin was absent from practice on Wednesday. His availability for Week 5 is uncertain, although the team does not foresee an injury that would require him to be placed on injured reserve.
Kenneth Murray (Knee)
Participating in warmups and some drills on Wednesday, Murray was limited in practice. This could have been a routine day off, as he had a high snap count against the Packers the previous week.
Tyler Guyton (Concussion)
Facing a potential third loss on the offensive line, Guyton is currently in concussion protocol. If he is unable to participate, Nate Thomas is likely to step in at left tackle.
Malik Hooker (Toe)
Veteran safety Malik Hooker exited the Packers game with a toe injury, which he believes could sideline him for a few weeks. The team is aligning with his assessment regarding recovery time.
Tyler Booker (Ankle)
The rookie first-round pick sustained a high ankle sprain in Week 3. Though spotted in a walking boot, he was seen without it later. The team is contemplating IR placement, which could potentially keep him out until Week 9.
CeeDee Lamb (Ankle)
Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain during his first touch against the Bears. Despite feeling able to play, he was held out for precautionary reasons. Current indications suggest he may miss the Week 5 matchup against the Jets.
Additional Injury Updates
Caelen Carson, Jonathan Mingo, and Miles Sanders are also dealing with various injuries, with updates indicating potential returns. Meanwhile, Cooper Beebe remains on IR, and DeMarvion Overshown is working toward recovery from a serious knee injury.
