KIM’S KEY MOMENTS
Kim secured a birdie on the par-4 11th with a 20-foot putt, extending his lead and then worked diligently to defend it. The par-4 14th hole was crucial; he faced challenging lies near bunkers that resulted in uncomfortable stances but ultimately saved par with a remarkable 15-foot putt. By the time he reached the 18th hole, he held a three-shot lead over fourth place, allowing for a final bogey.
“I felt that making that putt could really change the momentum,” Kim remarked about the 14th hole. “I focused and made it.”
ANTICIPATION FOR LIV GOLF
Lee and Hellgren are excited about the elevated competition that LIV Golf presents, featuring major champions such as Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, among others.
“I definitely need to hit longer to keep pace with those players, and I should work on my short game as well,” Lee stated.
“This opportunity will change our lives as a family,” Hellgren added. “However, it’s still just a tournament, and I aim to win in Riyadh because I relish the feeling of victory.”
KIM’S GRATITUDE
Meanwhile, Kim is grateful for another season with LIV Golf. The outcome from Sunday could be considered the most significant moment in his two years since returning to competitive golf.
“There’s immense satisfaction,” Kim expressed at the conclusion of his press conference. “I’ll truly appreciate this hard work later tonight while enjoying an iced tea. It holds significant value to me since three years ago, doctors told me I might have only two weeks left to live. Just being here, captivating this moment with all of you, is a true blessing.”
