Patrick Mahomes is undoubtedly one of the NFL’s top stars, yet his mother, Randi, is struggling to sell her old residence. The asking price has been reduced just two months after listing.
The property in Texas was where the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, now 29, moved with his family at the age of 11. It was initially priced at $285,000 but has now dropped to $279,000.
Randi decided to sell her Tyler, TX, home after receiving a stunning $825,000 mansion from Mahomes, his wife Brittany, 29, and his brother Jackson, 24, in March as a gift.
In a statement to Realtor.com®, Randi shared that selling the family home was a “bittersweet” experience, expressing excitement to create new memories in her new house with her 12-year-old daughter Mia.
“It’s bittersweet, but it’s time for a change. Mia and I can’t wait to decorate our new space and have room for those grandkids,” she stated.
This residence holds significant memories, including marks on a doorframe that recorded the heights of Patrick, Jackson, and Mia. The family’s joy in the home was evident from their cherished moments, culminating in Mahomes’ selection by the Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Listed by Tristan X. Mosher of Coldwell Banker Apex, the property is characterized as a unique piece of East Texas history, being the childhood home of Patrick Mahomes. With convenient access to shopping, dining, and schools, the home features an updated kitchen, spacious backyard, and is located in the desirable Whitehouse school district.
