We are excited to announce the release of the first pre-release for Java version 26.1, featuring the Tiny Takeover game drop! From this point onward, the focus will largely be on fixing bugs. Additionally, pre-releases will not adhere to the usual Tuesday snapshot schedule, so stay alert for future updates.

Command Changes
Time Command Updates
Syntax:
- time [of
] rate – establishes the rate multiplier for clock progression- Note: This alters the World Clock and any dependent Timelines’ internal timers without speeding up game simulation (unlike /tick rate).
- A rate of 1 indicates normal speed
- rate should be a float between 0 (exclusive) and 1000 (inclusive)
Bug Fixes in 26.1 Pre-Release 1
- Numerous bugs resolved, including issues with end portals, item models, and animations. Each fix is recorded for reference.
Getting the Pre-Release
The Pre-Releases are available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install it, visit the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the “Installations” section.
Note: Testing versions may corrupt your world, so please back up and/or use them in a separate folder from your main worlds.
