Manchester United’s Pursuit of Moise Kean
According to reports, Manchester United has discovered the salary demands of Moise Kean as they race against the clock to secure a deal for the Fiorentina striker at a favorable price. As the summer transfer window approaches, strengthening their attacking line-up is a top priority for the club.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have not delivered the necessary goal contributions in the Premier League, prompting United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, to realize that acquiring a reliable striker is essential for a top-four finish next season. His ideal target is Viktor Gyokeres, who he previously managed at Sporting CP.
Sources indicate that Gyokeres has communicated his desire to join Manchester United, but he is currently in negotiations with Sporting regarding the transfer fee. Consequently, United is exploring other options, with Kean being one of the players they’ve established contact with.
Reports from Il Corriere Dello Sport suggest that United has been actively monitoring Kean’s situation at Fiorentina. The 25-year-old is considered a prime target, particularly due to his eagerness to return to the Premier League and play at Old Trafford.
Last season, United scouted Kean regularly, but there is also interest from the Saudi Pro League. The Italian outlet states that Al-Qadsiah has already approached Kean, offering him an annual salary of €17 million (£14.55m, $19.9m), while Kean is seeking €20 million (£17.11m, $23.4m) annually.
This would position him as one of the highest earners at United, surpassing Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount, should he join. However, United faces a two-week deadline to finalise the signing if they wish to secure him at a bargain price, as Kean’s €52 million contract expires shortly.
While Arsenal has shown interest in Kean, they have yet to make a significant move. AC Milan has made some tentative inquiries, but nothing substantial has materialized. Kean had a stellar previous season, netting 25 goals and providing three assists in 44 matches for Fiorentina.
