NHRA Unveils Newest Top 75 Drivers
Doug Kalitta, Matt Hagan, Jason Line, Eddie Krawiec, and Sean Bellemeur have been honored as the latest additions to the NHRA’s Top 75 Drivers list for the league’s 75th Anniversary season. They join previously announced drivers such as Tony Schumacher, Antron Brown, and Erica Enders, among others. An additional ten drivers will be revealed soon to complete the list, which includes the original 50 from NHRA’s 50th Anniversary in 2001 and 25 modern-era drivers.
Doug Kalitta’s Journey
Kalitta began his career with success in midgets and sprint cars before entering NHRA’s Top Fuel category in 1998, driving for his uncle, Connie Kalitta. He quickly gained recognition as the top rookie, securing the Road to the Future award. With world championships in 2023 and 2025, Kalitta ranks fourth in Top Fuel race wins with a total of 59.
Matt Hagan’s Legacy
Matt Hagan, a four-time NHRA Funny Car champion, has been a consistent contender since joining Don Schumacher Racing in 2009, where he achieved his first victory in 2011. Now racing with Tony Stewart Racing, Hagan has accumulated 55 wins, placing him fourth in the all-time list.
Jason Line’s Career Transition
From Sportsman success to becoming a dominant force in Pro Stock, Jason Line turned professional in 2003 and earned the NHRA Rookie of the Year award in 2004. He amassed three Pro Stock championships and 51 victories, while also leading JLine Performance with his son.
Eddie Krawiec’s Achievements
Eddie Krawiec transformed his career after joining Vance & Hines in 2007, claiming four Pro Stock Motorcycle championships and 49 national event victories. Although he retired as a rider in 2022, he now serves as a crew chief, mentoring the next generation at Vance & Hines.
Sean Bellemeur’s Remarkable Rise
In just eight full-time seasons, Sean Bellemeur has emerged as a powerhouse in Top Alcohol Funny Car racing, achieving 48 national event victories and five world championships. His journey from a passionate fan to a two-time champion speaks volumes about his dedication to the sport.
Honoring the All-Time Greats
The new Top 75 Drivers list celebrates both legendary figures like Don Garlits and modern talents, highlighting excellence across different eras of NHRA racing. Once fully revealed, fans will have the opportunity to purchase a commemorative book featuring profiles and photos of all 75 drivers.
