Past Guests
Previous attendees have included Hall of Fame coach Bob Huggins in 2022, Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla in 2023, and former Celtics stars Robert Parish and Cedric Maxwell last year.
Significance of the Event
“This event has become essential for our program,” said Penguins head coach Ethan Faulkner. “The landscape of college basketball has shifted recently, and our need for support continues to grow. This event positively influences our program.”
This Year’s Special Guest
This year, Clark Kellogg, a former Ohio State player and CBS’s lead college basketball analyst, will join the festivities on September 10 at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield. Faulkner expressed enthusiasm for Kellogg’s appearance, recognizing his appeal to Ohio basketball fans.
Kellogg’s Background
Hailing from East Cleveland, Kellogg is celebrated as one of the finest high school players in the city. As a McDonald’s All-American, he achieved notable success at St. Joseph’s, leading his team to the 1979 state championship runner-up finish, where he set records by scoring 51 points and collecting 24 rebounds.
Event Highlights
The evening will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, a program update from Faulkner, a live auction, and a Q&A session with Kellogg. VIP sponsors will have the chance to meet both Kellogg and the YSU men’s basketball team. Tickets are available in various sponsorship tiers, and additional details can be obtained by contacting Rocco Nolfi at YSU men’s basketball.
