UFC Plays to Consider on DraftKings
I was leaning towards Oki even before Marquel Mederos withdrew from their matchup. Now, I feel even more confident about his chances against replacement fighter Michael Aswell. Aswell, who lost his Contender Series fight in August, aims to create pressure and land combinations. However, his inaccuracy could be problematic, as Oki is a formidable counter-puncher and solid wrestler, making Aswell’s chances of success questionable.
While “Cold Blooded” Blanchfield might seem like a grappler, she has delivered over 100 significant strikes in both of her last two five-round fights, even outstriking top-tier striker Rose Namajunas. Although Maycee Barber has a versatile skill set, Blanchfield’s persistent pressure will likely prevent Barber from effectively striking at her own pace, especially once the fight goes to the ground.
Both Goff and Ramiz Brahimaj will not be facing their initial opponents this weekend due to withdrawals. Brahimaj has shown wrestling prowess, but he struggled against the seasoned Court McGee in 2022. Goff is expected to take control early and can likely overwhelm the 32-year-old Brahimaj with continuous offense.
Having trained extensively against physically strong grapplers, Sijara Eubanks and Kayla Harrison should have adequately prepared Vieira for her bout against Macy Chiasson. Chiasson attempts to exploit her size and grapple, but she has shown vulnerability on her feet, as seen against Mayra Bueno Silva. Vieira’s sharp striking could trouble Chiasson from a distance.
Both Filho and Allan Nascimento excel on the ground. Not seeing a significant technical difference between the two, I’m favoring Filho for his agility and aggressive striking, which should help him dictate the fight’s pace, making grappling exchanges more manageable.
