This page explains how CR Today uses AI in our editorial workflow, what the AI does, what it does not do, and where human responsibility sits.
How AI is used
CR Today uses AI models (OpenAI’s GPT family, currently gpt-4o-mini) to assist in:
- Source ingestion — discovering newsworthy events from publicly reported source articles.
- Draft generation — composing the initial article body, which is then subject to editorial rules.
- Title optimization — rewriting article titles to match real Google search-intent keywords (via the cr-title pipeline; DataForSEO supplies volume and competition data).
- Automated source attachment — pairing each article with three external links to authority domains (via cr-related-sources; DataForSEO supplies SERP data, the whitelist is curated by the editor).
The AI is a tool. It operates within editorial rules — banned phrases, factual-coverage requirements, source whitelists — defined by the editor.
Human responsibility
Young Gon Kim, founder and Editor-in-Chief, is responsible for:
- Source whitelist curation (which authority domains are linked to, per category)
- Editorial rules (banned phrase lists, length constraints, factual-coverage requirements)
- Corrections review (every reader-submitted correction goes through human approval)
- Title optimization standards (the keyword-research scoring and search-intent rules)
- AI model selection and prompt tuning
- Overall publication standards and accountability
Verification system
Every article is automatically paired with three external links to high-authority domains for independent verification. The whitelist includes Reuters, Bloomberg, ESPN, BBC, Variety, TechCrunch, and primary-source .gov sites such as sec.gov and finra.org. You can — and should — verify any claim against these sources.
What we do NOT do
- We do not publish content under fake human bylines. Articles are attributed to CR Today (the publisher organization) — see our Editorial Team.
- We do not use AI to fabricate sources, quotes, or named subjects. Every external source link is validated against a real, live URL at insertion time.
- We do not use AI to generate images. Featured images come from publicly reported source articles via our wp-automatic ingestion (see Ethics Policy).
- We do not allow advertisers or affiliates to influence which authority sources are linked.
