Glenn Maxwell, the Australian allrounder, announced his retirement from ODI cricket on June 2. Here’s a look back at his notable achievements in one-day formats.
In his ODI career, Maxwell participated in 149 matches, accumulating 3,990 runs, taking 77 wickets, and making 91 catches. He was integral to Australia’s ODI World Cup victories in both 2015 and 2023 and is among only four Australian players to have scored centuries across all three formats of cricket.

World Cup Performance
Maxwell was a crucial player in Australia’s World Cup victories in 2015 and 2023, amassing 901 runs at an average of 47.42, including three centuries. Notably, his unbeaten 201 runs against Afghanistan in 2023, made while Australia was struggling at 91 for 7, is considered one of the greatest performances in World Cup history.
In addition, Maxwell’s spectacular innings established records for the highest score by a non-opener in ODIs and the fastest double century in a World Cup run chase, taking just 128 balls.
