Kansas faced Oklahoma State in the second half of an NCAA college basketball match at Allen Fieldhouse, resulting in a 96-64 victory for Kansas on February 22, 2025.
On Thursday, the Kansas men’s and women’s basketball teams announced their conference opponents and venues for the next season in the Big 12, which includes a total of 16 teams.
This season, each Big 12 men’s team will play 18 conference games: a home-and-away series against three teams, and additional matches with six teams at home and six away. This change reduces the total from last year’s 20 games, reverting to the format used from 2012 to 2024.
Although the full schedule will not be revealed until September, Kansas’s conference games are expected to begin after winter break, around late December or early January. Last year’s games began on December 31.
The Jayhawks will engage in home-and-home series against Arizona, Iowa State, and Kansas State. They’ll host Baylor, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, TCU, and Utah, while facing Arizona State, UCF, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and West Virginia on the road.
Notably, Kansas has not played Arizona and Arizona State on the road since joining the new Big 12. Their last travel to ASU was in 2018, and their last visit to Arizona was in 2008. Additionally, they will face Colorado, where former Jayhawks Tad Doyle and Danny Manning are part of the coaching staff.

For the women’s team, the schedule remains unchanged with 18 games following the league’s expansion. Although they do not have a finalized non-conference schedule, it’s anticipated that league play will start similarly to last year, around December 21.
The women’s team will also compete in home-and-home series against Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech, while hosting BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Utah, and West Virginia, and traveling to Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Iowa State, TCU, and UCF.
This season, the Jayhawk women will visit Tucson and Tempe for the first time since the schools joined the Big 12. Their last encounter with Arizona was a win in December 2022, whereas they last faced Arizona State in 2001.
