This offseason was robust for the Broncos, enhancing both their offensive capabilities and significantly bolstering their already strong defense. The team is shifting from being underdogs to becoming a rising contender, entering training camp with heightened expectations compared to previous years.
1. Bo Nix: Comfortable and Confident
Bo Nix is coming off a stellar rookie season where he showed remarkable growth throughout camp, preseason, and regular season. He played a pivotal role in bringing the Broncos back to the playoffs and aims to build on that success in his second year.
Coach Sean Payton noted that Nix’s comfort has significantly improved, with less hesitation in play-calling and quicker decision-making in the pocket. He emphasized that Nix is practicing with increased speed and confidence, making him a promising leader for the season ahead.
2. Focus on the Running Game
Heading into the offseason, the intent to strengthen the Broncos’ run game was clear, and this was realized effectively. In the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, they selected dynamic UCF running back RJ Harvey, anticipated to fulfill the role similar to Alvin Kamara in Payton’s scheme. Recently, they signed veteran JK Dobbins to a one-year deal, adding significant depth and experience to the backfield.
