The live-action Masters of the Universe reboot has officially completed filming. Actor Nicholas Galitzine took to social media to celebrate this milestone by presenting a first look at his portrayal of He-Man.
In his Instagram post, Galitzine remarked, “Well, that’s a wrap on Masters of the Universe. It has been an honor to play Adam and He-Man. This role has been a dream, and I’ve invested everything into it. Although I can’t reveal much, I’m incredibly proud of the film we’ve created. A huge thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for their dedication.”
While the image he shared isn’t a clear view of his He-Man, it does showcase a silhouette that hints at some recognizable aspects of the character. The costume appears to be in line with the original animated series, and he seems to don He-Man’s signature hairstyle and the iconic Power Sword.
The Cast of the Movie
Joining Galitzine in the film are several notable actors, including Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena Glenn, and Sasheer Zamata as Suzie. The film is directed by Travis Knight with a screenplay written by Chris Butler.
Galitzine has remarked on the intense preparation for his role, stating, “I’ve been lifting heavy weights to get into He-Man shape.” He also detailed to Vogue, “There’s a lot of eating and lifting involved. I’m consuming around 4,000 calories daily due to the physical demands.” He humorously noted, “I apologize in advance for how grumpy I might be during the cutting phase of training.”
The anticipated release date for the new Masters of the Universe film is June 5, 2026. Meanwhile, the original 1987 live-action movie featuring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man is available for streaming on PlutoTV and Prime Video.
