The Trinbago Knight Riders are scheduled to host all five of their home games for the 2025 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
This information was confirmed in a CPL press release dated June 16, marking a historical first as no matches will be conducted at the Queen’s Park Oval this season.
A representative from CPL explained that the Tarouba venue’s larger capacity plays a significant role in this decision, stating, “For logistical reasons, having one venue is far more efficient.”
Due to the tight schedule, which allows only a single day between games, moving equipment would be impractical. The spokesperson added that the television crew would have little time to manage the logistics, potentially needing to work round the clock.
Last year, the International Cricket Council also opted for the Brian Lara venue over the Queen’s Park Oval due to similar logistical challenges in transporting equipment between locations.
The Brian Lara Cricket Academy has hosted many notable matches, including the men’s CPL Finals in recent years and the Massy Women’s CPL Finals. Its vibrant atmosphere has established it as a central hub for Caribbean cricket.
The Knight Riders are set to compete against all five opposing franchises from August 27 to September 3, with matches scheduled as follows:
- August 27: TKR vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (7pm)
- August 29: TKR vs Barbados Royals (8pm)
- August 30: TKR vs Guyana Amazon Warriors (7pm)
- September 1: TKR vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (11am)
- September 3: TKR vs St Lucia Kings (7pm)
