The third major tennis tournament of the season, The Championships Wimbledon 2025, is just around the corner, and the iconic strawberries and cream are once again featured.
Following a French Open that showcased rare finals between the top two seeds in both the men’s and women’s competitions, fans are curious about who might stop this trend on the grass courts in London.
Jannik Sinner (3/2 at BetMGM) and Carlos Alcaraz (3/2) are the leading seeds and favorites on the men’s side. They seem headed for a potential second consecutive grand slam final showdown. Alcaraz, being the two-time defending champion at Wimbledon, has also dominated recent matches against Sinner, including an incredible comeback win at Roland Garros.
Challengers in the odds behind them include Alexander Zverev (11-1) and Novak Djokovic (12-1). Local favorite Jack Draper (20-1), seeded No. 4, is the highest-ranked British player in the tournament since Andy Murray. Additionally, two American players, Taylor Fritz (5th seed at 50-1) and Ben Shelton (10th seed at 50-1), hope to make an impact in the later rounds.
On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka (11/4) and Coco Gauff (4-1) lead the seeds after their exciting French Open finale, which saw Gauff emerge victorious. Despite this, the top betting favorite is the 8-seed Iga Swiatek (12/5), a five-time grand slam winner who has yet to reach beyond the quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
Four American women are among the top 10 seeds: Gauff leads the way, accompanied by No. 3 Jessica Pegula (50-1), No. 6 Madison Keys (25-1), and No. 10 Emma Navarro (66-1), all aiming for strong performances on grass. Last year’s champion Barbora Krejcikova (50-1) is seeded No. 17 and could face Navarro in the third round.
