Participate in the 7th Annual Gamma Epsilon Foundation Golf Tournament
TOURNAMENT DETAILS: The Gamma Epsilon Foundation is hosting its annual golf tournament in Lincoln, aimed at supporting students of color who aspire to enter fields such as STEM, law, and medicine. This year, we are joined by James Jordan, the foundation’s president. James, it’s great to see you!
IMPORTANCE OF THE TOURNAMENT: This tournament is vital for providing scholarships, internships, and mentoring to local youth who will become future leaders. Our scholarships are unique because they’re renewable, so students who meet the requirements can receive support for up to four years. This initiative significantly benefits the community.
FOCUS ON MINORITY REPRESENTATION: Increasing minority representation in STEM, law, and medicine is crucial because these fields lack diversity. Our fraternity and foundation help bridge this gap by connecting scholarship recipients with community leaders in those industries. My goal is to eliminate obstacles for our youth, allowing them to achieve their aspirations faster than I did.
SUCCESS STORIES: We have numerous success stories from our program. For example, one student who completed an internship with KCRA recently graduated from Morehouse and is now heading to graduate school. This is just one instance of the positive impact we strive to create.
EVENT DETAILS: The 7th Annual Gamma Epsilon Foundation Golf Tournament will take place at the Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln, California, on Monday, July 14, 2025. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Participants will enjoy various activities, including a putting contest, a longest drive competition, and a hole-in-one challenge for a new car!
PROCEEDS AND PARTNERS: All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Gamma Epsilon Foundation scholarship program, which aims to assist promising students of color in the greater Sacramento area. We’re thrilled to have strong partnerships with sponsors like KCRA and Puma, providing participants with complimentary food, beverages, and gifts such as Puma shoes and Pro V1 golf balls.
