Bill Goldberg bid farewell to professional wrestling, but he may not be the only star missing after WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Seth Rollins appeared to sustain a knee injury during his match against LA Knight, abruptly ending their contest.
The main event showcased Goldberg’s final match as he faced off against world heavyweight champion Gunther. The WWE Hall of Famer made his exit in Atlanta, where he became famous as a leading WCW competitor.
Unfortunately, an apparent injury overshadowed the bout before Goldberg’s. Rollins, who has dealt with knee issues in the past, fell to the mat grasping his leg. Following a sudden conclusion, he limped backstage with assistance from WWE staff.
CBS Sports was there all night, providing recaps and highlights of the action from State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Gunther Defeats Goldberg to Send Him into Retirement
Goldberg entered the ring dealing with real knee and shoulder injuries, yet his spirit was undeterred. He delivered multiple shoulder blocks to Gunther and laughed off his opponent’s signature chops. Outside the ring, Gunther dodged a spear, causing Goldberg to crash through the ringside barricade. The champion targeted Goldberg’s braced knee, attacking it repeatedly. In a surprisingly bold move, Gunther removed Goldberg’s knee brace and struck him with it, even provoking his son into intervening. In a display of strength, Goldberg executed a Jackhammer but was unable to secure the win as Gunther countered with a rear-naked choke, forcing Goldberg to submit.
I’m inclined to judge this performance generously. At 58, Goldberg’s in-ring capabilities were limited but creatively woven into the match. He effectively sold his knee injury while showcasing his signature moves one last time. Unfortunately, the show ran late, cutting his retirement speech short.
LA Knight Pins Seth Rollins After Injury Scare
The match featuring Rollins and Knight ended on a troubling note. Both wrestlers began intensely, attempting their finisher moves early. Tragically, Rollins’ knee buckled during a springboard flip, leading him to collapse on the mat. Following medical intervention, the match resumed briefly, resulting in Knight pinning Rollins. The circumstances surrounding the sudden conclusion indicate the injury was quite possibly legitimate.
Solo Sikoa Defeats Jimmy Uso in Title Defense
Sikoa’s title reign continues as he defended his United States Championship against his older brother, with assistance from his allies. Despite a valiant effort from Uso, Sikoa managed to secure victory by pinning Uso while Tonga provided a distraction. Following the match, Jacob Fatu confronted Tonga, hinting at future conflicts.
Randy Orton Bests Drew McIntyre with Jelly Roll’s Help
The opening match between Orton and McIntyre was solid but primarily served to advance WWE’s storyline plans. Jelly Roll assisted Orton after a previous attack and ultimately wreaked havoc during the match. Though McIntyre executed a Claymore kick that seemingly secured a win, Orton managed to counter due to outside distractions, winning with an RKO. Post-match, chaos ensued as Jelly Roll intervened in a confrontation involving McIntyre.
