Latest Updates on Manchester United Winger Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho, currently out of favor at Manchester United, is reportedly being urged to join AS Roma, as sources indicate there are no competing offers available.
After a loan spell at Chelsea last season, Sancho finds himself sidelined by manager Ruben Amorim. He is among five players who expressed a desire to seek new opportunities.
Of those five players, only Marcus Rashford has managed to secure a transfer away from Old Trafford, with less than a week remaining in the summer transfer window. Interest from clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Juventus appears to have faded, leaving Sancho in a difficult position.
While Roma has shown interest, negotiations have stalled as reports suggest that Sancho lacks eagerness to move to the Italian capital. Roma’s sporting director Frederic Massara noted that the winger’s motivation for a Serie A transfer seems absent.
Current reports suggest that Sancho has not outright declined Roma but has expressed doubts that are reportedly causing unrest within the Serie A club. United’s director Jason Wilcox seeks to alleviate the financial burden caused by Sancho’s £250,000 weekly salary. A £15 million transfer fee was tentatively agreed upon some weeks ago.
Sancho is reportedly facing a deadline of Wednesday to make a decision on the Roma move. If he delays, the club may pivot to alternative targets as they currently have no other bids lined up for the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Gian Piero Gasperini, Roma’s coach, remarked, “Sancho never said no to Roma. There are just a few days left, and this is a solid team regardless of the outcome.”
