Investigation into the Death of 15-Year-Old Celeste Rivas
The investigation surrounding the discovery of a girl’s decomposing body in an abandoned Tesla linked to singer D4vd has intensified this week. Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old resident of the Inland Empire who went missing in April 2024, has been identified as the victim.
Details remain murky regarding the circumstances of the Tesla being found on the street and the girl’s presence inside. While the cause of death is still pending, authorities are treating it as a homicide.
The relationship—if any—between D4vd and Rivas is also unclear. Los Angeles police are delving into online photos to explore any possible connections. Currently, there are no suspects as the death has not been definitively classified as a homicide.
Police confirm that D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is being cooperative. Investigators executed a search warrant at his Hollywood Hills residence as they try to trace Rivas’ activities prior to her death.
The severely decomposed remains of Rivas were found in the trunk of the Tesla, which had been impounded after being reported due to an offensive odor. Evidence suggests the vehicle was abandoned about five days prior to discovery. The remains were discovered in a bag.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner has confirmed that the remains belong to Rivas, who was reported missing on April 5, 2024. Specifics about her appearance, including a tattoo on her finger saying “Shhh…”, align with information shared by her mother to the media.
As speculation surrounding the incident grows, authorities emphasize D4vd’s cooperation. The artist has recently canceled a concert as part of his national tour, and brands such as Crocs and Hollister have removed him from advertising campaigns due to the ongoing investigation.
