Question from DA, Chicago
Q: Can you clarify when practice sessions became known as ‘free’ practice and why they are not listed on event calendars?
MP: This change occurred on February 29, 1999. It’s often advised to avoid reading the comments section for a more pleasant experience.
Question from Oliver Wells
Q: With Malukas leaving Foyt, does the technical partnership between Foyt and Penske remain? Is James Schnabel still part of Foyt’s team?
MP: While I inquired about the ongoing technical alliance recently, no clear answer was given, but that doesn’t mean it’s over.
Question from Liz, Proud Iowa Transplant
Q: Having attended my first IndyCar race at Iowa Speedway, I have fond memories. What was your favorite moment at this venue?
MP: Your perspective is wonderful. A memorable moment was Ryan Hunter-Reay’s thrilling win in 2014 against Tony Kanaan, successfully executing a late-pit strategy that cemented Iowa’s place in racing history.
Question from Kevin P., Los Angeles
Q: What do you think about potential doubleheaders between NASCAR and IndyCar to enhance race schedules?
MP: While seeing cooperation is promising, hosting dual events at Iowa might face challenges, especially since NASCAR handles broadcasting differently.
Question from Xavier
Q: What’s the outlook for the Mexico race and Iowa’s return to the IndyCar calendar?
MP: Mexico will indeed be revisited, while Iowa, unfortunately, seems unlikely to make a comeback unless specific circumstances arise.
