After initial uncertainty about his availability, it has been confirmed that Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens will not play in Week 5 against the Houston Texans. A hamstring injury has prevented him from participating in practices this week, and he was absent during Friday’s preparations.
Jackson sustained the hamstring injury in the previous game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Concerns persist that the past MVP may be sidelined for several weeks. Cooper Rush will take the helm in Jackson’s absence.
The Ravens are also dealing with several other significant injuries. Notable players ruled out for the game include safety Kyle Hamilton (groin), linebacker Roquan Smith (hamstring), cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf), and fullback Patrick Ricard (calf).
As the Ravens aim to avoid a 1-4 record for the first time since 2015, they face the Texans before hosting the Los Angeles Rams in their next matchup.
Other Key Injuries for Week 5:
- Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has been cleared to play after missing two games due to a knee sprain.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving is expected to miss multiple weeks with a foot sprain.
- Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard will be sidelined with a calf injury, providing more opportunity for Rico Dowdle.
