Sky Italia Expands NBA Coverage for 2025-26 Season
Sky Italia has secured a new package of domestic rights to NBA basketball for the 2025-26 season.
Coverage will be available through its newly launched basketball-specific channel. Comcast, Sky’s parent company, has acquired NBA broadcasting rights for the next 11 years starting with the 2025-26 season, which includes access to 100 regular-season games across various European markets under the Sky Sports banner.
Previously a holder of NBA rights, Sky Italia reaffirms its status as the long-term broadcast home for the league in Italy. With pre-season activities already in progress, the broadcaster has acquired additional rights for this season, including pre-season games, opening-day matches, all Christmas Day games, and more.
Sky Italia’s agreement also covers the Conference Finals and grants live rights to the NBA Finals in 2027, with delayed broadcasts in 2026 and 2028. Exclusive live coverage will alternate with Amazon Prime Video, which has inked a global rights deal with the NBA.
Furthermore, Sky Italia will include coverage of the upcoming WNBA season, broadcasting regular-season games as well as playoff matches. All coverage will begin on October 21, coinciding with the NBA season’s opening night.
In addition to live games, Sky will offer daily updates, news features, highlights, and special programs across its platforms. Meanwhile, Simone Fontecchio is expected to remain the only Italian in the NBA this season after transferring from the Pistons to the Heat.
Sky has also secured rights to Italy’s premier Lega Basket Serie A for the next three seasons, replacing previous rights holder DAZN, further solidifying its dominance in Italian basketball broadcasting.
TV3 Announces ACB Partnership
In another development, TV3 has reached an agreement with Spain’s ACB to air a Liga Endesa match weekly for the next two seasons. The matches will be available free-to-air and will be broadcast via TV3’s main channel and its digital service, 3Cat.
