Rashford Confirms Interest in Permanent Barcelona Move
Marcus Rashford is keen on making his stay at Barcelona permanent after joining on a season-long loan from Manchester United. The Spanish club has the option to buy him for £26 million at the end of the season.
Despite interest from other top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Rashford has his eyes set on solidifying his position at Barcelona. After leaving Old Trafford, he expressed a longstanding desire to play for the Catalan giants.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has publicly praised Rashford. The 27-year-old also impressed England manager Thomas Tuchel during international duty, after contributing to a decisive 3-0 win against Wales.
Rashford, in excellent form, has scored four goals and provided four assists in his last eight matches for club and country. His latest goal came during Barcelona’s surprising defeat to Sevilla, which momentarily knocked the La Liga champions from the top spot.
Looking ahead to upcoming fixtures, Rashford aims to play a key role for England, with the team potentially securing World Cup qualification in their next match against Latvia. He has been in sensational form, including scoring during a prior international victory.
Flick remarked on Rashford’s pivotal role, stating, “We needed a player like him,” highlighting the team’s strategic acquisition of the forward. Rashford himself is enthusiastic about his ongoing experience at Barcelona, stating, “It’s been an amazing experience and I’m learning a lot.”
Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, confirmed that there’s no penalty if they choose not to sign Rashford, emphasizing that the focus is currently on the present and his impressive contributions to the team.
