Kevin Federline Opens Up About His Life and Family
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kevin Federline has shared that his deep concern for his two sons with Britney Spears hindered him from revealing his story until now, as they are now adults.
In his upcoming memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” set for release on Tuesday, Federline reflects on his challenging journey as a husband, ex-husband, and co-parent alongside Spears, who published her own memoir in 2023.
The memoir contains some sensational anecdotes and potentially troubling aspects of Spears’ behavior that have already garnered media attention.
“I want my children to be able to move forward in their lives and know that the actual truth of everything is out there,” explained Federline, 47, in a Zoom interview, while situated amidst Hawaii’s palm trees where he resides with his wife Victoria Prince and their two daughters. “This is significant for me, and it’s crucial that I share my narrative so they won’t have to.”
Preston, who is 20, and Jayden, 19, have a limited relationship with their mother.
Federline, a backup dancer at 26, became romantically involved with Spears in 2004, leading to a high-profile marriage and subsequent divorce amid a whirlwind of media scrutiny. He faced considerable backlash, particularly after the release of his largely ridiculed hip-hop album.
In his book, Federline recounts the tale of how he and Spears connected at a Hollywood club, mentioning a pivotal moment followed by a rush of paparazzi. He reflects on the impactful events during and after their relationship, emphasizing the complexity of their past.
