The upcoming North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) girls golf championships are scheduled for next week, encompassing two 18-hole rounds on Monday and Tuesday.
Championship venues include: the 8A category at Pinehurst No. 6; 7A at Sapona Golf Club in Lexington; 6A and 5A at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe; 4A and 3A at Longleaf Golf & Family Club in Southern Pines; and the 1A/2A championship at Gates Four Country Club in Fayetteville.
Each classification will feature two regional events to determine which teams advance to the state championships.
In the 8A category, the top two teams and the eight best individuals not on those teams automatically qualify. For the 2A/1A categories, the top four teams and the next best 16 individuals qualify. In the 7A, 6A, 5A, 4A, and 3A classifications, the top three teams and the next best nine individuals will qualify.
If a team qualifies three individuals, they will compete as a team at the state championships. This marks the first time that the NCHSAA will conduct seven girls golf championships.
Further details, including last year’s state qualifiers, can be found on their official website.
The following sections outline the qualifying teams, regional team finishes, individual medalists, and top leaderboards for each classification.
