HONG KONG, Oct. 27, 2025
The WEMP Foundation (representing “Wellbeing”, “EQ”, “Mental Health”, and “Parenting”) and the Rafa Nadal Foundation (RNF) are excited to announce their partnership aimed at enhancing the overall wellbeing of children and youth globally through the power of play. Dr. Adrian Cheng, the founder of The WEMP Foundation, and Mr. Rafael Nadal, founding patron of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, co-hosted “The Children Ball — A Night of Hope, Strength and Inspiration” at Rosewood Hong Kong on October 24, 2025. They are working together to remove geographical barriers in their collective mission to foster an inclusive environment for all children and adolescents.
Millions of children and teenagers lack safe spaces to learn, develop, and flourish. By joining forces, these two foundations intend to “break down barriers” in underprivileged communities, using “sports and play” as crucial instruments for “education, mental health assistance, and empowerment”.
Dr. Adrian Cheng invited Rafael Nadal to co-host The Children Ball 2025, marking the beginning of their collaboration, which commenced with the establishment of Asia’s first and only Rafa Nadal Tennis Center Hong Kong at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar. Both Dr. Cheng and Mr. Nadal share a strong commitment to ensuring that investing in children’s wellbeing is essential for a brighter societal future. Their collaboration underscores not only their aligned values but also highlights the importance of community engagement in charitable initiatives.
“Hong Kong is poised to emerge as a global leader in philanthropy, supported by robust financial systems and over 10,000 tax-exempt charities already operating in the region,” stated Dr. Adrian Cheng, founder of The WEMP Foundation. “By teaming up with a like-minded philanthropic organization from Spain, our partnership exemplifies how friendship can lead to substantial global impact. The event not only acknowledges WEMP’s success as the largest promoter of children’s mental wellbeing in Hong Kong, featuring the most comprehensive education-focused programs in the city, but also reflects our ongoing commitment to making a significant difference in children’s mental health. We are incredibly grateful for our supporters and aim to establish Hong Kong as a premier center for philanthropy.”
“It’s a pleasure to collaborate with Adrian once more after successfully launching the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Hong Kong. Both of us feel a profound duty to advocate for the next generation,” expressed Mr. Rafael Nadal, founding patron of the Rafa Nadal Foundation. “Total wellbeing achieves a balance of physical activity, personal development, and emotional resilience. Our goal is to unlock the potential of children and adolescents through sports, education, and mentorship.”
United by their shared belief in the vital importance of mental health care, Dr. Cheng and Mr. Nadal, along with their foundations, will continue to work towards building a more sustainable philanthropic ecosystem that benefits both recipients and society as a whole.
