Exciting Season Conclusion
LONDON and NEW YORK – In light of an exhilarating end to the LIV Golf season, where Jon Rahm clinched the 2025 Individual Champion title in Indianapolis and his Legion XIII emerged victorious in the 2025 LIV Golf Team Championship in Michigan, the League has confirmed an increase in qualifying opportunities for 2026 through both The International Series and LIV Golf Promotions.
Expansion of Opportunities
“LIV Golf is broadening access for players globally to qualify for the first truly international golf league,” stated LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. “As interest continues to grow and players get the chance to compete across multiple regions, including the U.S., Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, it’s essential to widen access for skilled, ambitious players to enter the league.”
Details of The International Series
The LIV Golf League has increased its exemptions from one to two players through The International Series. The two highest-ranking players in the 2025 International Series rankings who are not already exempt will gain entry into the LIV Golf League for 2026. This global series has seen events throughout the year in India, Macau, Japan, Morocco, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, with two events remaining. Currently, Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent and the Philippines’ Miguel Tabuena lead the ranking.
LIV Golf Promotions Overview
Furthermore, the League has revealed plans for the third edition of LIV Golf Promotions, presenting significant opportunities for elite players worldwide to earn entry into the LIV Golf League and The International Series for 2026. The tournament will occur from January 8-11, 2026, at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. For 2026, the top two finishers will earn full-season spots in the LIV Golf League, marking an increase from one spot in the previous year. The top 10 finishers, including ties, will also secure exemptions into the 2026 International Series, along with a total prize purse of $1.5 million.
Tournament Format and Venue
The LIV Golf Promotions tournament will consist of four rounds of 18-hole stroke play. Starting January 8, the top 20 players from the first round will move on to the second round, where scores will reset, and additional qualified players will join. After the third round, another reset occurs before a final two-day shootout that will culminate in the awarding of two vital spots in the LIV Golf League for 2026 to the top finishers. The event will take place on The Ranch course, designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio, featuring challenging holes that promise an exciting finish.
