First, they took to the floor with their professional partners for a dance they had yet to learn. Following this, the couples were split into two teams for freestyle group dances. Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough, and guest judge Flavor Flav evaluated the performances, with their scores combined with viewer votes to determine the night’s elimination.

Dylan Efron — 36/40
Kicking off the evening, Dylan Efron dazzled the audience with a jive to “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John, filled with high-energy choreography.
Flavor Flav praised his performance, stating, “From the floor to the roof, that dance right there was the proof.” Tonioli commented positively on Efron’s footwork, while Inaba acknowledged some minor sticking points during kicks and flicks. Despite mixed reviews, Efron scored an 8 from Inaba, 9s from Tonioli and Hough, and a 10 from Flavor Flav!
Alix Earle — 39/40
As the previous week’s top scorer, Alix Earle returned aiming to maintain her lead with a paso doble set to Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.”
Tonioli acclaimed her performance as “brilliant,” while Inaba noted Earle had elevated standards for the night’s routines. Hough complimented her powerful presence on the dance floor, awarding her 10s across the board, except for a 9 from Flavor Flav, totaling 39/40.
Andy Richter — 30/40
Andy Richter consistently found himself at the lower end of the scores but has benefited from viewer support. This week, he performed a contemporary piece to “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys.
Inaba praised the emotional depth of his performance, noting it was relatable for those learning to dance. All judges gave Richter 7s, except for Flavor Flav, who awarded him a 9!
Whitney Leavitt — 39/40
Whitney Leavitt performed a paso doble to Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears.”
Hough celebrated her performance as “classic” and “edgy,” and Tonioli regarded her execution as “exquisite.” While Inaba noted some minor footwork issues, Leavitt received 9 from Inaba and 10s from the others, ending with a 39/40 total.
Team Performances
Team dances featured Fishel, Leavitt, Chiles, and Efron performing a group freestyle with guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro, earning a perfect score of 40/40. Team Kool, which included Earle, Irwin, Richter, and Hendrix, scored 38/40.
The leaderboard after the first round showcased Leavitt at the top, earning immunity from the upcoming relay dance, while Fishel faced elimination by the episode’s conclusion despite Richter’s lower scores.
