Injury Updates Ahead of Week 10
The Detroit Lions (5-3) and the Washington Commanders (3-6) have released their injury designations in preparation for their matchup this Sunday afternoon.
Here’s the latest on player injuries. Changes from the previous report will be bolded.
Lions Injury Report
- RB Jacob Saylors (back)
- DL Pat O’Connor (knee)
- S Kerby Joseph (knee)
- G Miles Frazier (knee, still on PUP) — Days remaining in evaluation: 18
- EDGE Josh Paschal (back, still on NFI) — Days remaining in evaluation: 18
Saylors was limited in Wednesday’s practice but hasn’t participated since, suggesting he likely sustained an injury during practice.
O’Connor has not practiced this week. The specifics of his injury remain unclear, but it has resulted in his absence from this weekend’s game. This could create opportunities for players like Mekhi Wingo or Quinton Jefferson.
Continued Rehabilitation
Joseph is still undergoing recovery for his knee, although progress has been slow. Thomas Harper is expected to start in his place for the third consecutive game.
Frazier and Paschal are both working towards returning from offseason injuries and will continue to remain on their respective injury lists for the next week. Rodriguez still has a week of practice before a decision will be required, while the others have two weeks left in their evaluation periods.
Additional Lions Updates
- RB Craig Reynolds (hamstring)
- LT Taylor Decker (shoulder/rest)
- OT Dan Skipper (back)
- LB Grant Stuard (foot)
- LB Malcolm Rodriguez (ACL, still on PUP) — Days remaining in evaluation: 10
- S Daniel Thomas (forearm, still on IR) — Days remaining in evaluation: 9
Reynolds returned to practice and seems poised to be part of the game, joining Sione Vaki as backup running backs. Decker is anticipated to start after missing a few practices, while Skipper has been managing a back injury but is expected to play.
Stuard has participated fully in practice despite a foot injury and seems on track to play unless complications arise. Both Rodriguez and Thomas are marked as questionable, with updates expected by Saturday evening due to the team’s travel schedule.
