The announcement for the nominations of the 2026 Spirit Awards has begun.
This annual awards event celebrates exceptional accomplishments in film and television. To qualify, films must have budgets under $30 million, and those competing for the John Cassavetes Award have a maximum budget of $1 million. In the television categories, eligibility is restricted to new shows that have completed one season, released between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025. Anthology series are only eligible during their inaugural season.
The 40th Film Independent Spirit Awards is set to occur on February 15, 2026, taking place at the Hollywood Palladium.
