On December 9, 2025, Microsoft is set to launch the last Patch Tuesday update of the year for Windows 11, unveiling a host of crucial features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
This update will address design inconsistencies between the Start menu and Windows Search, along with improvements to the dark mode in an updated File Explorer.
The Settings app will see numerous enhancements, featuring a new “Device info” card on the Home page that highlights key system specifications. Additionally, the “About” page will get a refreshed look, integrating Mobile Device options directly into the app, thereby simplifying navigation with the introduction of Virtual Workspaces to manage virtualization features. More mouse and keyboard settings will also transfer over from the Control Panel.
Moreover, the update will roll out a revamped Widgets dashboard with a fresh settings experience. The Xbox Full Screen Experience will now be accessible on a wider array of handheld devices.
It’s essential to note that these changes are being gradually released through Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) technology, so it may take some time before all users see them on their devices.
The release will also enhance the Windows Search performance by aligning it more closely with the newly revamped Start menu design. A new “Share with Copilot” feature will be introduced in the Taskbar’s app thumbnail, facilitating quick conversations with the chatbot.
Other noteworthy adjustments include changes to Windows Spotlight, a switch to a single “Device info” card instead of multiple specifications, modifications in the context menu for ease of use, and the provision of advanced settings for virtualization management alongside various small enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates.
