Milan 1-1 Genoa
Milan salvaged a draw at home against Genoa, equalizing in the 92nd minute but nearly conceding a late penalty that could have cost them the match. Nikolae Stanciu missed the opportunity by shooting over the bar. Goals were scored by Lorenzo Colombo and Rafael Leao.
Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic started alongside each other for only the second time this season, marking their first appearance together since a victory over Inter in November. The midfield trio included Youssouf Fofana, Luka Modric, and Adrien Rabiot, while Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez were sidelined due to injuries.
Coach Daniele De Rossi made a single change from the previous game, opting for Alessandro Marcandalli in place of Sebastian Otoa at center-back following his team’s draw with Pisa.
The match saw slow beginnings, but Genoa took the lead with a precise delivery from Ruslan Malinovskyi that set up Colombo for a quick finish. Milan’s best chance in the first half came from Fofana, who failed to capitalize after a fantastic save from Leali denied Leao’s attempt.
As the second half progressed, Milan struggled to convert set-pieces into goals. Pulisic came close after a lofted cross from Pavlovic, but Leali’s exceptional save kept Genoa ahead for much of the match.
This result benefited Inter, who now hold a three-point lead over Milan at the top of the Serie A table, while Genoa pulled three points clear of the relegation zone.
