AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Set to Start After Super Bowl
DEL MONTE FOREST, Calif. — Following the conclusion of Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is gearing up for its kickoff. Final preparations are currently ongoing for this highly anticipated golf event, which will feature some of the sport’s biggest stars.
“The best of the best — 89 out of the top 90 players — will be at Pebble Beach. The only notable absence is Justin Thomas, who is recovering from a back injury. Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and more will be present, making Pebble Beach the top location for golf,” stated Steve John, tournament director and CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation.
Many Super Bowl fans are also making their way to Pebble Beach ahead of the big game on Sunday. “This place is absolutely beautiful. It’s even more stunning than I anticipated,” remarked Jackson Murray, who traveled from Atlanta. Charlie Carson, visiting from Nashville, added, “We’re here for the Super Bowl, but we plan to play some golf as well.”
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am begins Monday with practice rounds, just a day after the Super Bowl. Historically, when the Super Bowl was last held at Levi’s Stadium a decade ago, numerous fans decided to stick around for quality golf.
“After the 50th tournament, we saw a noticeable increase in ticket sales, so we’re optimistic there will be additional interest next week as fans realize Pebble Beach is not far from Santa Clara,” John noted.
Ticket sales received a significant boost recently after announcing that Travis Kelce, pop star Taylor Swift’s fiancé and a Super Bowl champion, will compete in the amateur segment of the event. “The announcement about Travis Kelce resulted in a surge in ticket sales—around $50,000 in just eight hours. He played in the Phoenix Pro-Am on Wednesday, which also attracted considerable interest,” John mentioned.
Although Swift is not expected to be on-site, organizers suggest that her presence in town is still a possibility. “The Swifties are ready—they have a keen sense for her locations. They’re purchasing tickets and will be in attendance. Don’t underestimate the Swifties,” commented Kylie Callocchio, who also traveled from Atlanta.
No matter Swift’s presence, golf fans can anticipate an extraordinary experience when practice rounds commence on Monday, with official play starting on Thursday. Plenty of tickets remain available, and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am stands as one of the largest charity events on the Central Coast, having contributed over $18 million to more than 200 charities across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.
