Justin Grant Dominates in Ocala
OCALA, Fla. — Justin Grant typically secures at least one victory in Florida, and he was determined not to leave the Sunshine State empty-handed this time.
As the most successful driver in USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship history at Ocala Speedway, Grant surged from the eighth starting position to clinch victory in Saturday night’s miniseries finale, overtaking Brady Bacon with just four laps to go. This win earned him $10,000, marking his ninth triumph at the three-eighths-mile dirt track and the 66th of his career, bringing his total USAC national wins to 95—just five shy of the 100 mark.
The final laps saw Grant find a new racing line that proved advantageous. He drove his TOPP Motorsports/NOS Energy Drink Chevy deep into turn one, making a powerful move down the back straight to leap from fourth to first.
“Everyone kept saying it was single file,” Grant remarked. “We just kept pushing to improve and finally found the right setup for the race.” It was a significant turnaround after he finished last in a preliminary dash to determine feature starting positions.
Throughout the week, Grant faced challenges, with finishes of 17th, 11th, and 6th leading up to the final race. “We had our struggles and were in a tough spot,” he admitted. “My team never lost faith and continued to support me no matter how tough things got.”
Brady Bacon, the second-winningest driver at Ocala with six victories, led much of the feature after winning the dash. However, as the race neared its conclusion, Grant found his rhythm, moving through the pack rapidly.
Once in the lead, Grant quickly extended his advantage, ultimately finishing 1.542 seconds ahead of Bacon, with Kyle Cummins and Mitchel Moles trailing. In addition, Logan Seavey captured the overall 2026 Winter Dirt Games championship, rounding out a successful night with significant earnings for the top competitors.
