BTS Achieves No. 1 with *ARIRANG* on Billboard 200
BTS’s album ARIRANG has made a strong debut, landing at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the week of April 4. This marks the pop group’s seventh No. 1 album, with the collection earning 641,000 equivalent album units, the highest debut for any group since Billboard began tracking by units in December 2014. Of this number, 532,000 units were from pure album sales, which is BTS’s largest sales week in over ten years.

The album ARIRANG adds to BTS’s history of successful chart-toppers, including Proof (2022), BE (2020), MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 (2020), MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA (2019), and the two entries from the Love Yourself series in 2018.

In its latest tracking week, ARIRANG earned 641,000 equivalent album units, comprising 532,000 from pure sales (the most significant week for any album by a group), 95,000 from SEA units (which equals 99.10 million on-demand streams), and the remainder from TEA units.
Record-Breaking Sales
BTS’s performance is noteworthy, achieving the highest week for any album by units since Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, which debuted at No. 1 with 4.002 million units on the October 18, 2025 chart. The band also recorded the biggest week for pure album sales since Showgirl’s release, which totaled 3.48 million with One Direction previously having larger sales weeks.
Launch and Promotions
ARIRANG was released on March 20, with its title announced on January 16. The album was supported by a global Netflix live special, BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, and its lead single “SWIM,” which premiered alongside the album. Following the release, BTS performed live on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Upcoming Tour and Chart Positions
The BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ is set to kick off on April 9 in Goyang, South Korea, and will reach the U.S. on April 25 in Tampa, Florida. In this latest Billboard chart, Luke Combs’ The Way I Am debuted at No. 2, indicating the only other new entry within the top 10 alongside ARIRANG. Other titles include Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem and Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, among others.
