ARLINGTON — In the first 32 years of the Texas Rangers’ existence, following their move from Washington, D.C., Oddibe McDowell made history as the only player to hit for the cycle on July 23, 1985, against the Indians at Arlington Stadium.
Since the 2004 season began, nine more players have made their mark in the Rangers’ history by achieving this rare milestone.

Oddibe McDowell
July 23, 1985
McDowell was the Rangers’ inaugural player to hit for the cycle, accomplishing this feat during his rookie season at Arlington Stadium with an 8-4 victory over the Indians. He notably went 5-for-5, including a double, a single, a triple, and a home run.
Mark Teixeira
Aug. 17, 2004
Nearly two decades after McDowell, Teixeira also achieved his cycle against the same team, the Indians, at the Ballpark in Arlington. He capped his performance with a single in the seventh inning during a 16-4 win, tying his career best with seven RBIs.
Gary Matthews Jr.
Sept. 13, 2006
Matthews Jr. stands out as the only Ranger to complete his cycle in order (1B, 2B, 3B, HR). In an 11-3 win against the Tigers, he went 4-for-4, achieving this remarkable feat by hitting a grand slam along with other hits, and became the first Ranger to cycle on the road.
Ian Kinsler

On Jackie Robinson Day, Kinsler excelled by going 6-for-6, making him the fourth player in franchise history to hit for the cycle. He became the first since 1900 to achieve a six-hit cycle in a nine-inning game, also breaking several club records in the process.

Molina had an unforgettable cycle, completing it as a catcher at Fenway Park. He became the first catcher for the Rangers to hit for the cycle, achieving a grand slam along with his other hits and finishing it with a daring triple.
Adrian Beltré

Beltré made history by hitting his second career cycle, achieving it a day after falling short. He became the first player to cycle at the Ballpark in Arlington while playing for both home and visiting teams, illustrating his impressive career.
