Jack Black Returns to Saturday Night Live
Jack Black made his return to Saturday Night Live, officially becoming a member of the Five-Timers Club.
The star of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie kicked off his monologue by celebrating his fifth hosting stint, accompanied by a host of fellow Five-Timers.
The Joy of Hosting Again
“I’m so excited to host SNL for the fifth time. Joining the Five-Timers Club is a huge honor!” Black exclaimed.
A Comedic Reunion
Joining Black was his Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot co-star Jonah Hill, who humorously wore a Five-Timers robe. Their exchange included jokes about Hill’s work on Superbad 2.
The Five-Timers Lounge
The pair ventured into the Five-Timers lounge, where Hill asked for Black’s help with some unsettling issues in the club. Black agreed, sensing an ominous atmosphere, until Tina Fey popped in, humorously reminding Black of his historic achievement as the first Black member of the club.
Reflecting on the Club’s Legacy
Fey noted that the club, originally a joke from a Tom Hanks monologue, had seen better days, humorously stating, “It’s been run into the ground,” and admitting it was also her fifth time being part of it.
A Musical Twist
During the show, Black and Jack White, the musical guest of the night, shared a playful moment. Black jokingly remarked about the parking validation for five-time musical guests, leading to a high-energy performance of “Seven Nation Army” to rally the crowd.
Upcoming Episodes
Jack Black’s milestone hosting marked a return one year after his previous appearance in April 2025. Looking ahead, Colman Domingo is set to lead the next episode of SNL, with Anitta as the musical guest.
