Championship preview: Rybakina vs. Muchova
Rybakina has lived up to her World No. 2 ranking, reaching her third final of the season. She has demonstrated resilience throughout the tournament and particularly in the quarterfinals, showcasing her ability to win even when not at her best.
In their previous matchups, Rybakina trails Muchova 2-1; their latest encounter was in the Brisbane quarterfinals, which Muchova won. However, this will be their first meeting on clay.
“She’s a great player with excellent skills,” Rybakina commented. “I aim to stay aggressive and serve well, as I did in my previous matches. It’s the final, and I want to deliver my best performance.”
Muchova, having a stellar start to the 2026 season, is also looking to secure her second title of the season, following a significant win in Doha. A victory in Stuttgart would bolster her confidence as she approaches the upcoming Madrid-Rome-Roland Garros stretch.
Despite the physical demands of clay, Muchova remains optimistic. “I know that every match helps me improve my fitness,” she stated. “Elena has had a fantastic year, winning a Slam, so I need to bring my A game.”
