Overview
Kanye West directed his attention at over a dozen celebrities this week, including Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and their children, just ahead of the release of his new album, “Bully.” However, his erratic behavior on social media seems to be receiving less scrutiny than it previously did.

Key Points
West’s recent posts included unusual comments directed at Jay-Z and Beyoncé, as well as their young children.
Although he deleted these posts, West later expressed regret over removing them, declaring, “If Twitter takes my stuff down, so be it, but I need y’all to know Jay-Z or anyone else does not have power over me.”
He also made several accusations against rapper Playboi Carti, claiming domestic violence and criticizing him for asking West’s daughter, North West, to provide vocals for his new album without involving West himself. Playboi Carti has denied domestic violence allegations from an incident in 2023.
Additionally, West publicly requested Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea to let their son feature in one of his songs, where he would “rap about one of your businesses.”
Despite West’s ongoing rants, very few celebrities responded, and his posts regarding his album seemed to attract limited attention both online and in traditional media.
Responses to Kanye West’s Rants
In response, Playboi Carti tweeted “YE STFU” early Wednesday, garnering over 313,000 likes, far surpassing any likes on West’s rants. Iggy Azalea also replied to West’s comments about her child, urging him to keep her son out of the drama, mentioning that West’s posts leave a troubling digital footprint for her child to cope with in the future.
Kanye West’s Other Targets
West has also attempted to involve himself in the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, which includes other artists such as Metro Boomin and Future. In now-deleted messages from earlier this week, West expressed his disdain for Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us” and accused Future and Metro Boomin of ignoring his calls about a remix he had contributed to. He used derogatory language towards Drake in these posts and further alleged that his ex-wife Kim Kardashian was exploiting their children in a separate now-deleted rant.
Details on Kanye West’s New Album
West’s new album, titled “Bully,” was released as a short film at midnight on Wednesday. He shared a link to a password-protected file containing different versions of the film. Currently, the album isn’t available on mainstream streaming platforms, and it remains unclear whether West intends to make it accessible in that format, given his prior criticisms of streaming services.
Background Context
This recent spate of social media outbursts from West coincides with a resurgence of controversies surrounding the rapper, who has faced backlash after making antisemitic statements in 2022, resulting in Adidas and other partnerships being severed. He has recently faced fresh claims of antisemitism alongside bizarre behavior, such as public displays wearing controversial clothing and making inflammatory social media statements.
